BITS Pilani Fees for B.Tech 2022 – Scholarships and Concessions

BITS Pilani is known to provide scholarships and concessions to topper candidates across various categories. Following is the list of such categories:

• For board toppers: Students who have secured the three top positions (first, second, and third) in their 12th board examinations are given merit scholarships of almost about 100%, 75%, and 50%. This is applicable for the first semester on the overall tuition fees respectively.
• Merit score in qualifying examination: Students obtaining 90% or above in the aggregate of qualifying examination are given the merit scholarship of 20% in their first year’s tuition fee. Students obtaining 80-90% aggregate will get the 15% merit scholarship in their first year’s tuition fee.
• Merit score in the BITSAT examination: Depending on the academic BITSAT scores, candidates will be given a discount on their first-year tuition fee. Hostel fee concession for admitted candidates who score 150 or above is also given with a 25% concession rate for the four-year course regimen.
• Merit in competitive examinations: Students who have taken the AIEEE or IIT-JEE competitive exams for admission to engineering programmes are offered scholarships ranging from 25% to 75% of the first-year tuition fee, based on their exam performance.
• Sports excellence: Students who have competed and won medals in international championships are eligible for a scholarship of 50% of the first-semester tuition fee, whereas students who have not competed in international championships are eligible for a scholarship of 15% of the first-semester tuition fee. Students who participate in and win medals in national competitions are eligible for a scholarship of 20% of their first-semester tuition fee, whereas students who do not participate in national tournaments are eligible for a scholarship of 5% of their first-semester tuition fee.
• Merit scholarship for continuing students: Students with a CGPA of 9.00 or higher on a 10.00 scale at the close of a semester are eligible for a merit scholarship valued at 20% of their tuition for the next semester.

Q.1: When can I apply for BITS Pilani 2022?
Ans: The completed application form with details of 12th marks and preferences for different degree programmes must be submitted on or before August 31, 2022, and as well as application fee must be submitted online at the BITS admission website.

Q.2: Will I be eligible to apply for BITSAT 2022 if I pass the 12th exam in 2020?
Ans: Only students who passed or appeared in their 12th class in the current academic year and who passed their 12th class in the preceding academic year are eligible to take the BITSAT.

Q.3: How do I get a fee waiver for BITS Pilani?
Ans: In first-degree programmes, 25% to 80% of students receive tuition fee waivers through scholarships each year. Admission through GATE/GPAT will entitle candidates to a tuition fee waiver of Rs. 13,400/- per month on top of their GATE/GPAT scholarship.

Ans: BITSAT 2022 exams for Session 1 were conducted from July 2 to 9 2022, while Session 2 exams will be held from August 3 to 7, 2022.

Ans: Candidates can refer to the previous year’s structure since the official BITS fees structure 2022 is not released yet. Based on that, candidates have to pay Rs 39,800 as an admission fee and Rs 1,78,000 for Semesters 1 and 2. The fee for the 2nd year is 1,94,000, for the 3rd year is 2,11,500, and Rs 2,30,500 for the 4th year.
